Architect director Christoph Ackermann is one of the presenters at a conference organised by UK Science Parks Association (UKSPA) and S-Lab on the theme of Science Innovation and Translation: The Design and Operation of Research Laboratories, Incubators and Science Park Facilities. Christoph will present on the design of science facilities using the Technology and Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde as a case study. Completed in 2015, the building facilitates research and knowledge exchange activities by incorporating flexible project, meeting and office space alongside high quality research and laboratory accommodation including clean rooms, world class equipment, specialist laser optics materials laboratories and high voltage facilities.
BDP is also a gold sponsor and exhibiting at the event, showcasing examples of recent work for AstraZeneca, University of Cambridge and Manchester Science Park alongside the model of the Technology and Innovation Centre which is shortlisted for an S-Lab/UKSPA award in the innovation category. Two other BDP projects, the Maxwell Centre at University of Cambridge and Enterprise Centre at University of East Anglia, are also shortlisted for the awards which will be announced at the conference dinner on 9th May.
