Part II Student appointed RIBA Vice-President for Students

Simeon Shtebunaev, architectural and planning assistant at our Birmingham studio has been appointed Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) national co vice-president for students and associates.

Simeon was initially elected in 2016 as a RIBA council student representative, which is made up of 60 members responsible for the conduct and development of the institute. He was also a trustee of the charity. Now, the council has elected him, alongside associate council member Selasi Setufe, to represent the interests of architecture students and associate members nationally. Together they will sit on the Education Committee working with the president, executive team, director of education and director of membership, to promote innovative ways students can work.

With an interest in town planning, Simeon was also appointed a student representative on the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) General Assembly in October 2017.
