Plans to complete world-class stadium redevelopment

Our plans to expand the world-class stadium and events venue Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester have been revealed. We are appointed as architect and building services engineer by Lancashire County Cricket Club to replace its existing Red Rose Suite with a 4,850 seat stand that will increase the capacity of the ground to 26,700, making it one of the largest cricket grounds in the UK and the largest outside London. The stand also features a pitch-view suite alongside enhanced members’ facilities, a heritage centre, ticket office and shop. We are also designing an extension to the Hilton Garden Inn hotel.

Work follows on from our radical redevelopment of Emirates Old Trafford in 2012 which delivered the award-winning events venue The Point and revamped the original pavilion that dates back to the late 1800s, as well as a new player and media centre. The new stand will complete the redevelopment, further transforming the historic venue.

Trafford Council is also embarking on the redevelopment of the wider area, the Civic Quarter Masterplan which will include a new public piazza and processional route that links the cricket ground with Manchester United’s Old Trafford.
