Building Services Engineering - Ireland

BDP has developed a reputation for innovative design of sustainable buildings in Ireland. Our passion for developing new techniques for reducing the environmental impact of buildings has been honoured by several awards.

In education alone we have worked on over 180 successful school projects, and are recognised as one of the most experienced school design consultants in Ireland.

Retrofitting Ireland’s existing building stock with sustainable, energy efficient systems is key to achieving our environmental targets. BDP has successfully completed over 100 refurbishment projects in Ireland including schools, offices, and industrial buildings.

We believe in the importance of monitoring the actual energy performance of our buildings to ensure that they run as planned. We regularly gather data on this which not only provides invaluable information on how the buildings should be operated but also assists in the design and optimisation of future projects.

Primary Schools (Ireland)

We have worked on over 80 primary school projects in Ireland which places BDP as one of the most experienced school M&E design consultants in Ireland.

Second Level Schools (Ireland)

BDP has worked on over 95 secondary school projects in Ireland placing the environmental engineering team as one of the most experienced on school design consultants in Ireland.

Third Level Education Buildings (Ireland)

BDP has successfully completed many third level educational buildings and worked with many of Ireland’s third level Universities and Institutes.

Healthcare (Ireland)

Our building engineering services team have significant experience in healthcare design. We have extensive knowledge of the best of current practice in hospital and healthcare design – embracing both hospital operation and patient well being.

Rothco/Accenture Office Fit-Out

Modern fitout of creative agency Rothco’s office in Smithfield Market Square delivered within a tight construction programme of eight months.

National Maritime College, Cork

Making a landmark out of a training facility. Ours was the winning design in a PPP competition. We arranged the accommodation, training areas and other functions over three distinct wings and joined them with a lateral circulation route.

Hilton Hotel Lagos

Design approach is to provide global standards and facilities with contemporary interpretation. The concept is of four leaves of bedroom accommodation emanating from a six storey atrium all with stunning views.

National Gallery of Ireland

Refurbishment and upgrade of historic galleries. BDP’s building services engineers designed the new air conditioning and environmental control systems that were retrofitted into the historic wings of the National Gallery of Ireland.

Fingal County Hall

A new county hall for Fingal County Council in Swords. A symbol of the client’s desire for opennes`s in local government, clear in it’s relationship to the particularities of its site and providing a quality environment, on low energy principles, for both occupants and visitors.

St. Colmcille's National School

St. Colmcille’s National School is a state-of-the-art new three storey 10,500m2 primary school, which is the largest primary school built to date by the Department of Education & Skills.

Smurfit Kappa News Press Limited

This project was an €18m joint venture between Smurfit Web Press and News International Newspapers to build a newspaper printing plant to print the Irish editions of The Times, The Sun, The Sunday Times and the News of the World.
