King Edward's School Sports Facilities

Facts

Location Client Cost Size Completion
Birmingham, UK King Edward's School £5.5m 1,778 sqm 2018

Project details

The new sports facilities has a prominent frontage on Bristol Road, giving the school a contemporary presence on a much used arterial route into Birmingham city centre, while opening up views to the main school building.

The scheme includes a four court sports hall with indoor cricket facilities, a fitness suite equipped with cardio machines and weight training areas, a large multi-purpose area, a classroom and changing rooms, each with access to the existing playing fields adjacent to the site and associated landscaping. There is a large foyer space with a small catering area for gatherings during sporting events.

The facility is part of an ongoing masterplan for the school. This is the second development we have done for King Edward’s School, the first being the science redevelopment and new sixth form centre which was completed in 2013.
