Beyond BIM: CIM

 Tim Williams says “ BDP’s engagement with BIM technologies has led our workpklace team  to develop a new organisational and cultural strategy in order to fully exploit the benefits offered by BIM modelling.

 This initiative is called CIM (Concept Information Modelling).

Tim’s presentation illustrated CIM at both project and practice level, showing how:

• Modelling of the project and its context can allow us to test design decisions at the critical early stages, specifically with regard to environmental issues
• Supporting this model requires that as practitioners in the design community, we critically readdress habituated workstyles in order to fully harness the power of emergent design technologies.
