Richard directs design within our urbanism sector and works on innovative approaches to new projects.

He has led masterplans for Liverpool ONE; Waterfront City, Melbourne; Yaroslavskaya Rail Yards, Moscow; All England Lawn Tennis Club, Guangzhou Tennis Centre and the Olympic Tennis Centres at Sydney, Athens and Beijing.

He is committed to developing the talents and experience of the urban designers within his group.

Where do you see the architecture profession in 2050?
“The ideal future will see us not as designers but as orchestrators of virtual reality games where we take public consultation to its logical conclusion of having participants help build the masterplan in a virtual world first.”
