Archway Development Framework

Building Design Partnership, in collaboration with MVA and Donaldsons, has been appointed by Islington Council to produce the Archway Development Framework.

Archway is a key 'stitch' in the A1 and is therefore a key focus for the council's A1 Borough regeneration work. The aim of the project is to provide a high quality, vibrant, mixed use vision for Archway that meets local needs and improves connections between different modes of public transport.

The study will involve a considerable level of public consultation which will, in particular, focus on gaining the views of hard to reach groups as well as other key stakeholders. The project team has been commissioned to explore both incremental and comprehensive development options before a preferred option is worked up in more detail.

The study is programmed for completion in April 2006 whereupon it will be adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document.
