BDP extends apprenticeship scheme

BDP has announced the appointment of three new apprentices who have joined the structural and building services engineering teams in Manchester and London.

Jamie Nolan  (17) is studying the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in civil engineering in the built environment, and Adam Abdalla (24) and Zahid Ahmed (19) are studying the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in building services engineering on a day release basis as part of the National Apprenticeship framework whilst working towards professional qualification with ICE/CIBSE.

Their appointment follows on from the success of the previous intake of three apprentices (pictured) in September 2012 who have all successfully completed their apprenticeships and are now being sponsored by BDP to further their academic studies.

Debra Larkman, HR Development Director, said:  “The apprenticeship scheme has proved a successful part of our recruitment strategy and a valuable addition to our graduate programmes.  Our 2012 apprentices have proved to be assets to the company and our new intake show great promise.  Our approach to on-the-job-learning, sharing experience, coaching and mentoring sits very well with the apprenticeship model and we believe that our apprentices will go on to have very successful careers here.”
