Double win at BCO Awards

Two BDP designed projects have received awards from the British Council for Offices. The awards programme provides public recognition for top quality design and functionality and sets a benchmark for excellence in workplaces.

Inovo, for Scottish Enterprise, won the commercial workplace award in the Scottish region. The judges said: “Inovo is a new Grade-A office development located within Scotland’s emerging International Technology and Renewable Energy Zone. Whilst being the little brother of the Tic building currently under construction next door, Inovo is a significant development in its own right making excellent use of the site constraints. BDP’s response to the constraints is both understated and elegant and creates an office that ticks all the boxes of Scotland’s drive for a low carbon nation.”

3 St James Court in Norwich for PwC won the fit-out of workplace category in the Midlands & East Anglia region.  The judges said: “The project married perfectly the needs of one of the big four with those of the local workforce.  The project considered every aspect of design from client engagement through to accommodating the requirements of the users.”

In addition BDP’s Exchange Station in Liverpool is shortlisted in the fit-out of workplace category of the North of England region which are due to be announced on 21 May.

The winners of these regional awards will now all go through to the BCO National Award ceremony which will be held in London on 7 October.
