Masterplan and phased construction of major business park
Following competitive interviews we were appointed for both the further development of the masterplan framework, and also for the first construction phase of six office buildings which provided 9,500 sq m (102,000 sq ft) of floor space. In total the Birchwood Park site provides approximately 304,800 sq m (3,300 000 sq ft) of B1 offices and 82,300 sq m (886,000 sq ft) of B8 industrial accommodation.
The design concept is based on an aesthetic of strength and formality, distinguishing the park from the more informal style of development.
The next phase of design consists of five pavilions (two completed at Bridgewater Place) grouped around a central landscaped space. This phase of work will provide around 7,500 sq m (81,000 sq ft) net of office accommodation.
