Channel Tunnel UK Terminal

A world-class road/rail interchange linking the UK to the Continent.

Respect for the setting was our starting point: we raised earth levels and planted the perimeter to screen the scheme visually and acoustically.

We designed all the structures within the terminal, including 18 buildings — elegant white pavilions acting as punctuation points along the traveller’s route.

Modelling enabled us to create a system that moved traffic quickly from a feeder motorway into the site and onto shuttles for prompt departure.
