Gaelscoil An Eiscir Riada, Tullamore

Energy-saving primary school of the future.

We used passive solar methods to maximise heat and light inputs and minimise energy outputs, with windows arranged to catch morning sun.

Our eight-classroom design included natural ventilation, rainwater recovery and an advanced carbon-neutral heating system.

We increased insulation, reduced leakage of warm air and used a lightweight structure to limit the physical impact of the building.
