BDP is drawing up a masterplan for a mixed use township extending over 300 acres on ex agricultural land next to the national motorway, on the western outskirts of Kolkata at Howrah.

Alongside residential, commercial and retail uses it will include public facilities such as schools, hospitals and hotels.  In addition 25 acres will be devoted to an IT SEZ (special economic zone).

Brief

• prepare a mixed use masterplan for the second phase of a new township
• incorporate residential, commercial and retail uses

• a masterplan with unique character areas with a distinct identity and appeal
• a central landscape spine that integrates the existing landscape and built features with the new development
• a sustainable development, with each district within walking distance of new facilities
• a development with a strong urban character that is legible, accessible and diverse
