A major regeneration masterplan for the regional Dutch city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch driven by the need for an enlarged station due to a planned extra rail line. The regenerated area, with transport interchange is called Paleiskwartier in honour of the huge palace of justice.
The site has been planned on the lines of a traditional cityscape with high density mixed use buildings. A rectilinear street grid has been imposed but with contrasting forms, style and atmosphere.
High quality architectural design was insisted upon and a number of ‘star’ architects from all over Europe have designed the buildings.
