Transport director Peter Jenkins will join a panel of industry experts for a round table discussion on the transport sector and why it is important to the success of the northern powerhouse. Organised by Insider it will explore the calls to improve the transport infrastructure in the north and the suggested One North plan to offer faster links on the trans-Pennine and Newcastle lines and better access to Manchester airport.

Peter is currently completely the major redevelopment of Manchester Victoria station which is undergoing a £44m transformation as part of the £1bn+ Northern Hub and North West Electrification Programme. A new modern roof has been constructed which required one of the largest cranes in the country to lower its largest steel rib into place as it measures nearly 100 metres in length and weighs nearly 70 tonnes.
