100% Design

When: 21st – 24th September
Where: Olympia, West Kensington, London W14

BDP’s acoustics team has a bespoke acoustic installation entitled Are You Listening, in the atrium at this year’s 100% Design exhibition. It aims to highlight the importance of acoustic environments through introducing subtle soundscapes to a busy reception area and in so doing seeks to encourage more awareness of the acoustic environment and how this affects people. Sound is a critical but often under-represented part of the design approach for interior spaces but, as a key part of the sensory experience, a well-designed soundscape can deliver a range of benefits.

Chairman David Cash is a panellist for one of this year’s Talks with 100% Design, curated by the Design Museum as part of their on loan campaign, bringing the museum out in to the world and the design community. On Thursday 22 September at 18.00 he joins Nicholas Jewell (Ben Adams Architects) and John McRae (ORMS) to discuss Brexit’s effect on architecture and how leaving the European Union will affect business and the industry as a whole. The debate will be chaired by Professor Bob Sheil, Director of The Bartlett School of Architecture and tickets can be booked using the link below.
