Revival Exhibition

When: 23rd July – 5th November
Where: Gallery Oldham, Oldham Cultural Quarter, Greaves Street, OL1 1AL

BDP’s designs for the transformation of the Grade II listed Oldham Town Hall feature in the new Revival exhibition at Gallery Oldham which explores the history of this landmark building from 1841 and looks ahead to the current works completing later this year. The derelict Victorian building will reopen as an 8 screen cinema complex with high end restaurants and cafes. The development will ensure certain architectural features and decorations are retained while allowing the building to have a new use. The existing ballroom, council chamber, committee rooms and court rooms will be kept and transformed into the cinema screens, while a new extension with glass lightbox will create a new façade onto a pedestrianised square.

This free exhibition, running through to November, will also feature Oldham’s old library and art gallery with plans for a new heritage and arts centre and provides an opportunity for people to find out more about the history of the area whilst looking ahead to its future.
