Ecobuild

WHEN: 7th-9th March
WHERE: ExCel, Royal Victoria Dock, London E16

Michelle McDowell, Chair of Civil and Structural Engineering is a speaker on the second day of this year’s Ecobuild conference. She will join a panel chaired by Will Gompertz to explore the topic of a challenging future and how the next generation wants to shape our world. This inter-generational discussion will explore how young industry professionals see their future in an uncertain political climate with possible economic stagnation and how they will find ways of delivering better buildings more cost-effectively.

Michelle is a past chair of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering, has a fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering and in 2014 was given a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women in Construction Awards. She regularly judges industry awards and sits on the Royal Academy of Engineering Diversity Forum.

The theme for this year’s Ecobuild exhibition and conference is regeneration and it will feature an immersive city, complete with main street, distinct destinations and special attractions. Regeneration Drive, a boulevard running through the middle of the exhibition, will link different aspects and enable visitors to experience the very best examples of innovation and creativity from across the built environment.
