WHERE: Central Library, St Peter's Square, Manchester, M2 5PD

Nippon Koei and BDP are the sole sponsors for the visit of the Japanese ambassador, Embassy of Japan in the UK, to Manchester on Tuesday 21st February. After a welcome at the Town Hall by Manchester’s Lord Mayor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Mr Koji Tsuruoka will walk to the Central Library to be welcomed by Sir Richard Leese, Leader of the Council. The Central Library is the largest and most popular library in Manchester containing historic archives and exhibition space for the historic films collection and Manchester studio’s engineers, lighting and acoustics teams were commissioned for the refurbishment in 2014 with a focus on centralised energy generation.

Mr Takayasu Tsuyusaki, Managing Executive Officer Nippon Koei, will make a short presentation before participating in a panel session Q&A with industry experts.  A networking lunch will follow also attended by Nippon Koei Deputy Director General, Mr Kyoichi Nagata, together with BDP’s Head of Urbanism Francis Glare and transport director Peter Jenkins. In the afternoon the ambassador will learn more about science and innovation in Manchester with visits to Citylabs and the National Graphene Institute.
