Diversity in the Built Environment

When: Monday 14th May 18.00 – 20.30
Where:
Pinsent Masons LLP, 55 Colmore Row, Birmingham B3 2FG

Birmingham studio’s Kieren Majhail is hosting a cross institute event to discuss diversity in the built environment with other hosts including Pinsent Masons, Birmingham Architectural Association, Women in Property and all the major built environment institutes.  The subject is particularly topical as recently published gender pay gap figures suggest the construction industry needs to significantly improve in recruiting and retaining women, particularly at senior level, and that racial equality is potentially an even bigger issue.

Bristol studio architect director Yuli Cadney-Toh will join a panel of guest speakers including Deborah Cadman OBE (West Midlands Combined Authority), Caroline Buckingham (Caroline Buckingham Architects), Louise Brooke-Smith (Arcadis), Louise Wyman (Homes England), Sarah Wigglesworth (Sarah Wigglesworth Architects) and David Ogunmuyiwa (ArchitectureDoingPlace) to discuss the current problems and look at ways of improving the diversity across the industry as a whole.  Tickets for this free event can be booked here.
