Manchester Pride 2019

When: Saturday 24th August 09.30 – 11.15
Where:
BDP, 11 Ducie Street, Manchester M1 2JB

Principal Ged Couser and our Manchester studio will be hosting this year’s Architecture LGBT+ Manchester Pride Breakfast, celebrating diversity in design during Pride season. Following the brunch all guests will be invited to walk from the studio to join the parade at 12.00 behind the Architecture LGBT+ float, designed by RAW Architecture Workshop with the LFA and RIBA. Tickets for the event can be booked here.

The practice has been celebrating Pride season with the second popular Glitterball event, held in our London studio in July, organised by our LGBT+ in association with RIBA’s Architecture LGBT+ and IALD, sponsored by Zumtobel, and which brought together some of the most influential lighting designers, architects, choreographers and artists.

Our Sheffield studio also recently co-hosted the Building Equality launch with fellow hosts Turner & Townsend, Mott MacDonald, Urbana Town Planning and Atkins. Held in Arup’s Sheffield office, the launch united a network of people and kicked off a programme of events designed to drive LGBT+ inclusion forward in the city’s construction sector. Following in the footsteps of cities including London, Manchester and Leeds, the official launch of Building Equality in Sheffield is testament to the rapid growth of the network across the country over the last 12 months.

BDP’s LGBT+ was launched in 2017 and is committed to providing a positive and nurturing environment with a growing network of representatives across all of our studios who act as a first point of contact for any employees wishing to discuss any LGBT issues. All representatives act as ambassadors within the wider design and construction industry promoting BDP’s inclusivity and attending LGBT+ events.
