David Cash joins the Construction Leadership Council

David Cash, Chairman of BDP, has been invited to join the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) with responsibility for leading the Exports and Trade work stream.

The UK construction industry recently saw its 24^th month of continuous growth and the CLC is key to the government’s plan for increasing productivity and prosperity. It is the primary interface between the government and industry, and has now been rationalised by the new government so that its membership is reduced from thirty to twelve.

Co-chaired by the Skills Minister, Nick Boles and Sir David Higgins, Executive Chair of HS2, the newly formed group will include six government and six industry representatives including senior suppliers, architects, consultants and housebuilders who will provide leadership to help transform the UK construction industry and position it as a driver of productivity across the economy.

The role of the council is to identify and deliver priority actions to help achieve this transformation.  David will be approaching other industry figures to join his team to discuss ways to improve the UK’s export performance in the construction sector.
