Success for BDP at BCO Awards 2016

Three BDP projects have won awards in this year’s British Council for Offices regional awards. The Technology and Innovation Centre at the University of Strathclyde won the innovation award in the Scottish region, the Enterprise Centre at Norwich Research Park won the best corporate workplace and the innovation award in the Midlands and East Anglia region, and PwC’s Bristol office won the fit-out category in the South West and Wales region.

One of the BCO’s primary objectives is to define excellence in office space and the annual awards give public recognition for top quality design and functionality and provide a benchmark for excellence in workplaces.

PwC Bristol represents the fifth scheme BDP has done for the client which has won a BCO Award. Katharine Finn a delighted client tweeted “and we've won!!! Fabulous news and great recognition for all involved in our brilliant new space!”

The TIC building was chosen as it helps to attract companies to Glasgow, and, through groundbreaking methods, it uses 50% less heating energy compared to building standards.

The Enterprise Centre was selected for the award based on its stimulating interior and groundbreaking low-carbon sustainable technologies, teamed with its bright, spacious feel and state-of-the-art facilities.

Richard Kauntze, Chief Executive of the British Council of Offices said: “The regional entrants to this year’s awards have truly set the bar for future projects across the country. The Enterprise Centre is a remarkable building, which showcases sustainable technologies within an exciting thatched facade.”

All three schemes will now go forward to the National Award scheme in October.
