Double win at the AJ Retrofit Awards

We have won two AJ Retrofit Awards which were announced on 13th September at The Brewery.

Oldham Town Hall won the Leisure category and the judges praised it as “An inspired transformation of a previously rotting building, repurposing and reinventing it in a viable way to create a vibrant new centre of gravity for the city – helping kick start the wider regeneration through a new square and significant public realm improvement. Internally a sensitively judged renovation, refreshing historic fabric and marrying it with contemporary spaces, while integrating greatly improved thermal and environmental performance.”

The judges also chose Smythe Library, Tonbridge School as the winner of the School category. They said “It is impressive that this scheme was delivered for £3.6 million in only 13 months. It’s an aspirational project and what the architects did has added, from the extensive use of timber to new bay windows, really work."

We are delighted to receive the awards  which recognise and celebrate design, engineering and construction excellence that prolongs and improves the life of the built environment.
