Double win at top engineering awards

BDP has won two of the top prizes at this year’s CIBSE Awards. The top engineering awards celebrate and recognise outstanding building services engineering practice and support the quest for a more sustainable built environment. 

BDP won the building performance category against four other shortlisted practices. The judges said “BDP are on another level, with such a great range of things that they are doing. Some of the initiatives they showed really stood out as innovative and put them ahead of the other entries.” BDP also caught the eye of the judges for being a vocal advocate for Soft Landings and conducting post occupancy evaluations of all its projects.

The Enterprise Centre at the University of East Anglia also came out on top winning Commercial/Industrial Project of the Year.

The judges said “The Enterprise Centre had the best energy performance of the entries in this category. Aspirations were very high and they delivered, following an exemplary process including post-occupancy monitoring. This is an outstanding building and a game changer.”

Working with Architype and Morgan Sindall, we provided full engineering and sustainability for this exemplar low carbon building that achieved two of the most rigorous sustainable built environment standards, BREEAM Outstanding with a score of 93.0% and Passivhaus.
