Refurbishment Work Completes at Paddington Lawn

Refurbishment work on the Lawn area at Paddington Station in London has recently completed.

Our vision for Network Rail creates a new retail and catering destination adjoining Brunel’s famous station structure enhancing the visitor experience and boosting Paddington’s status as one of London’s major gateways. New shopfronts have been designed to subtly reveal the stone colonnade and restore the visual connection with the historic train sheds.

We wanted visitors to experience the grandeur of the building and, in addition to enhancing the passenger experience, it was important that all travellers should want to spend time in the Lawn rather than just pass through it. The stripping back of elements that previously enclosed the space now adds to the perception of increased volume and help transform a dark uninviting space into a major asset for London.

The Lawn will eventually link directly to one of the main entrances of the anticipated Crossrail development allowing future pedestrian flow into the space.
