World-class healthcare facility gets go ahead

Planning permission has been granted for a world-class healthcare facility that will occupy part of the former BBC Pebble Mill Studios site in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The studio designed by John Madin was built in 1971 but demolished 34 years later and now regeneration plans to transform the 27 acre site into a community of leading hospitals, healthcare centres with the latest treatment are underway led by landowner's Calthorpe Estates.

BDP has designed a new 9,000 sqm medical treatment and research facility that forms part of the regeneration scheme Pebble Mill. The building will sit next to Circle Health’s new private hospital and rehabilitation centre as well as Birmingham NHS Dental Hospital.
