Edinburgh School of Engineering granted planning permission

The new School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh’s King’s Buildings Campus has received full planning permission. The 6,500 sqm building is the first building of a phased relocation and co-location of the prestigious School of Engineering. The building will provide teaching and learning spaces, laboratories, workshops, academic and administrative offices as well as social spaces and a café.

Architect director Christoph Ackermann commented: "This is an important milestone for the School of Engineering project and we are looking forward to working with the university and our interdisciplinary design team on the next stages."

BDP was appointed in 2017 as lead designer, architect, structural engineer and landscape architect for the project.
