Ballymun Civic Offices

Facts

Location Client Cost Completion
Dublin, Ireland Bennett Construction Ltd €32m 2003

Project details

A new plaza with a civic centre.

The building forms the southern edge of the new civic plaza. Two blocks of accommodation are linked by a light filled atrium. The main block facing the plaza contains a dramatic council chamber suspended over the entrance.

The atrium is the social focus of the building and contains exhibition space, a coffee shop and meeting space for the community.

Considerable attention to detail was required for the high quality cladding to the building elevations and the glazed atrium roof.

A fitting centrepiece for Dublin's showcase urban renewal project.
