Project details

This unique project brought together two councils to share experience and knowledge, to design and deliver innovative cost effective solutions for new secondary schools with an emphasis on community benefit and sustainability.

The modern building sits effortlessly in its parkland setting respecting its Georgian neighbours. A new pedestrian boulevard terminates in a public square between the new school and historic building.

The design places the learner at the centre. Three floors of cellular teaching spaces are wrapped around a central heart space with a range of teaching, learning and social spaces at different levels bringing drama, flexibility and identity to the school.
