Project details

The design responds to its rural site with the plan arrangement loosely paralleling the house system in use at the college.

Catering for 1,150 students ranging from 11 to 18, the academy features a community ‘front door’ displaying the specialisms of the school; performing arts, business & enterprise, science and design & technology. The central heartspace links to four separate common areas acting as gateways to the main schools within the school.

A facility for the combined cadet force and a separate boarding house for 100 pupils with social, infirmary and house parent facilities are also provided on the site nestled into existing woodland.
