[d]arc room live

When: 19-22 September
Where:
London Design Fair, Old Trueman Brewery

Lighting designers Lora Kaleva and Lee Painter will be giving talks at this year’s [d]arc room, which celebrates creativity in the lighting industry.

On 19 September 1.30pm, Lora will present UCL Student Centre - Creating Diversity with Light  where she will share the lighting design challenges for this BREEAM Outstanding project which offers a variety of lit environments for different activities, such as group working or quiet study. She will discuss how the design team overcame the challenges, providing a lighting solution that is integrated with the architecture, allowing for the building’s clean concrete ceilings to be clutter-free.

On 20 September 4.20pm, Lee Painter will explore plastic in the lighting design industry, and will draw from installation project BottleHouse which was recently on display for Clerkenwell Design Week. In his talk, Lighting the Way, he will look at current design objectives, recyclability goals and will challenge why the majority of design is provided exclusively for the world's richest 10%.

[d]arc room is part of the London Design Fair and is organised by arc and darc magazines. To visit, please register at https://www.darcroom.com/
