Jonathan co-manages the civil and structural engineering team in Manchester.

With over 30 years’ experience, he has delivered building designs across all sectors in the UK, the MENA region and the Far East.  He has won awards for several projects, the most recent being the  ‘Most Innovative Project’ in the 2017 Northwest Structural Awards for Boxpark Croydon, which is a pop up  food and beverage mall constructed from 96 upcycled shipping containers.

He is passionate about design, has a pragmatic approach and a keen eye for detail, and enjoys working in close collaboration with architects regarding the whole team as significantly greater than the sum of the parts.

Jonathan guides our strategy for maintaining and increasing civil and structural design quality across all studios.

Who is your biggest personal influence?

“Renzo Piano. Seeing the finely crafted details for Piano’s travelling IBM Pavilion in the late 1980s inspired me to develop a more creative approach to engineering design, which I have continued to nurture and refine over the years”
