Mike is an accomplished designer with 30 years of experience working in the workplace, residential interior design and hospitality sectors.

Mike has successfully combined a distinguished career in architectural practice, commercial development and teaching.

He is particularly interested in exploring concepts of resilience and adaptation within design and creating buildings and places that are able to flex and change in response to shifting climatic, social and technological structures.

What will be the key characteristic of the industry in 2050?

Data and communication will pervade and reshape every aspect of our lives.  We need to have the foresight to design buildings that are resilient to change and that will remain relevant in a world with rapidly shifting physical and social structures.

We will see an intensification of usage of buildings, spaces and cities that optimises their utilisation.  Carbon & Energy will be critical metrics in all aspects of our lives.
