Since March 2020 BDP, supported by Curtins and AspinallVerdi, has been working with Wirral Council and local partners to produce an integrated masterplan for Liscard Town Centre. The masterplan will articulate a new ambitious vision for the future of the town centre and provide a clear framework to drive forward and guide the sustainable economic growth and renewal of Liscard over the next 15 years.
The masterplan is needed recognising that the nature and purpose of town centres is changing and that Liscard needs to redefine its identity. The masterplan is a significant opportunity to renew and reshape Liscard in a way that will improve the experience of residents, businesses and visitors ensuring it is fit for the future.
The masterplan has been financed by the Liverpool City Region Town Centre Fund which forms part of a wider £500,000 programme of investment for Liscard that is delivering a range of interventions to improve the sustainability and vitality of the town centre. By October 2021, the programme will deliver:

The masterplan is concerned with identifying medium to long term improvements for the town centre. It will inform the emerging Local Plan and help to shape and influence how the Council invests in regeneration, mindful of future funding opportunities from central government.
Following our analysis of the town centre, we have worked up some initial ideas for the masterplan, including options for new development and proposals for re-shaping the character of streets and spaces. We would like to hear what you think of these ideas, so that we can develop a final masterplan for the town centre that reflects the views of those who live and work in the town centre.
The YouTube video below will give you an overview of the masterplan proposals.
You can view and download additional information on the masterplan here.
Consultation took place on the masterplan options between 12 October and 2 November. Feedback is currently being considered and a report will be issued in early 2021.
