We were commissioned by the University of Birmingham to design a range of learning and research facilities across its two international branch campuses in Dubai, building on our relationship with the university following our work on its flagship Teaching & Learning Building in the UK.
Our UK based global education experts, in collaboration with our local Abu Dhabi studio, delivered contemporary, future-focused interiors across two floors for their initial flagship campus. The scheme included a striking double-height reception, a 180-seat lecture theatre, seminar rooms, laboratories, computer suites, and flexible teaching spaces.
All areas were equipped with advanced digital infrastructure and conferencing facilities, ensuring seamless connectivity with the Birmingham campus.
For the university’s permanent Dubai campus, we were appointed to design the fit-out of a 480 sqm Wet Laboratory. This facility broadened the range of subjects offered and was supported by preparation rooms, storage areas, a locker room, and an office.
