Manisha is the business director and head of our India studio, responsible for business and design strategy for BDP’s work across the region.
She is also an urbanism director with more than 20 years’ extensive international experience as a masterplanner and urban designer.
Based in New Delhi, Manisha has worked on projects across India, Middle East, China, Southeast Asia and the UK. She has led the masterplanning of a wide range of projects including city masterplans, green field masterplans, smart city proposals, residential and mixed use townships, transit oriented masterplans, projects for social inclusion and public realm strategies.
Manisha believes the key contribution urban designers can make is to work collaboratively with design teams to respond to the project’s challenges creatively and effectively. She believes that all projects should be underpinned by a well-founded vision, driven by an agreed common set of principles between all stakeholders, to focus on details that will ultimately inform the development’s success.
The project is a design of a Golf Residential Masterplan for a 100 acre site in Greater Noida.
BDP were commissioned by SPRE, a 150 year old real estate company, to masterplan a 900 acre site on the edge of Pune. The site is located at the cusp between the existing city and natural beauty of the Western Ghats.
BDP India have developed a comprehensive package of urban design measures for neighbourhoods in Indian cities that support the health and well-being of children between the ages of 0-5.
Competition winning masterplan for new academic campus.
The campus layout responds to the microclimate and topography of the steep site in the part forested hills of Kamand in the western Himalayan region.
BDP were commissioned by the Punjab Government to masterplan a 300 acre site, for developing a state of the art tourism destination around the famous Ranjit Sagar Lake in Punjab, India.
Working together with Nippon Koei Vietnam, BDP developed a master plan vision for the 110 square kilometre site that spreads across the north-eastern coast of Vietnam.
