Nick is a principal, chair of the landscape architecture profession and leads the London studio urbanism team.

He has extensive industry experience and has been instrumental in the design and implementation of many award-winning masterplans and public realm projects in both the UK and internationally. Major masterplans he has delivered include the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club at Wimbledon, Liverpool Ropewalks, North Mayfair and Whitechapel Crossrail Urban Integration.

Nick has also led teams working on major public realm work in many central London locations including Mayfair, Belgravia, Bloomsbury, Covent Garden, Limehouse and Paddington, to ensure that streets and spaces are designed and delivered to the highest standard. He has recently led the development of a public realm strategy for Victoria and is the public realm design lead for the joint venture team appointed by Westminster City Council for the regeneration of the Oxford Street District.

What will life be like in 2050?

We will have learnt from Covid-19 and will have embraced technology and the environment. We will still be social in nature and will have adapted our cities and neighbourhoods to increase flexibility and ensure that they are better equipped to support our health and public life.

Whitechapel Masterplan

A masterplan to reflect the collaborative vision of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and local stakeholders for the regeneration of the area.

Regent Street Greening

A collaboration between BDP, The Crown Estate and Westminster City Council has resulted in a design solution for the ‘Greening of Regent Street’, to complement and enhance the street’s road widening project.

New Covent Garden Market

The market proposals will provide modern facilities consolidated on one site for the 200 tenant businesses, which employ over 2,500 people.

All England Lawn Tennis Club

Ace makeover for tennis championship venue. This project was underpinned by our masterplan, which reorganised the entire championship site to improve facilities while retaining the spirit of ‘tennis in an English garden’.

A true marriage of art and technology. The campus is designed around the concept of ‘open accessible learning’ with a three-phase programme of building on the banks of the River Wear.

Brown Hart Gardens is an elevated public square over a listed substation immediately adjacent to Oxford Street.

We have upgraded the streetscape in terms of composition, surfacing materials and furniture elements.

In this public realm design we considered the influence of both historic and existing structures to ensure integration into, and respect for, the new urban environment.
