Transforming Cancer Care

When: Wednesday 22nd July 12.00

Healthcare director Ged Couser will present the recently opened Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in a webinar jointly hosted by the Save Construction Initiative and Constructing Excellence. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest networked cancer centres in the UK and the new hospital combines world-class clinical services, research and academic excellence to provide the highest quality, specialist nonsurgical oncology treatment and care.

Ged joins Tim Holliday, director at CCL Solutions, to  give an in depth presentation on the £128m new build facility and how the hospital will transform cancer care throughout the city of Liverpool and the wider region.  The dramatic curving prow of the 11-storey building has already earned it the nickname The Liner, and it incorporates 110 fully-single ensuite patient bedrooms and five radiotherapy Linac treatment suites.  The design steps back in profile at its upper levels creating external terrace spaces for wards, especially for the chemotherapy floor. These offer panoramic views across Liverpool, giving staff, patients and visitors access to external landscaping and fresh air.

There is no charge to join the webinar but places are limited so please book using the Eventbrite link below.
