Sue Emms up for Northern Power Women Award

Manchester principal Sue Emms has been shortlisted in the Transformational Leader category for the Northern Power Women Awards which celebrate the many different ways women contribute to a thriving Northern Powerhouse and the role models working towards gender balance in different organisations across the north.

This year, Sue took over the role of chair of our north region following her appointment as principal in 2018. She is responsible for delivering some of BDP’s most innovative and award-winning educational projects and is an active champion of good design and a holistic, sustainable approach to building, epitomised in the acclaimed St John Bosco Arts College and Enterprise South Liverpool Academy. She is a Visiting Practice Professor at the University of Sheffield and in 2015 she won the Architect of the Year category at the Women in Construction Awards.

Over 900 individuals were nominated for the Northern Power Women Awards and Sue is on a shortlist of eight in her category. The winner will be announced on 18 March at the Manchester Central Convention Complex.
