Project details

The NHS Northumbria International Alliance (NHS NIA), which is a unique partnership between Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Northumberland County Council, is working in collaboration with Rong Qiao Group to create a world-class, 800 bed tertiary general hospital. It will have inpatient, VIP and palliative care wards, as well as a women’s facility alongside birthing and neo-natal care, an emergency department and a cancer treatment hospital with radiotherapy bunkers and a wellness centre for preventative care.

Additionally, the NHS NIA has also partnered with The Christie NHS Foundation and assembled a team of specialist resources in the areas of clinical design and delivery, health planning, demand and capacity modelling, and architectural services to produce the masterplan. Its aim is to deliver a medical campus offering outstanding clinical care.
