BDP is advising Grosvenor on the strategic planning promotion of a new residential community of up to 5,000 homes and community infrastructure adjacent to Chelmsford in Essex.
Grosvenor, alongside the partnering landowners, have an ambitious vision for the site, to facilitate enhanced enable social mobility and enable community and family success. We are supporting the development of masterplan proposals to demonstrate how this vision can be achieved, through design, placemaking innovation and long-term stewardship.
BDP has prepared a planning strategy to promote the allocation of the land for housing through the Chelmsford Local Plan process. The project vision has emerged from research and stakeholder engagement to identify how the development can respond to local issues and opportunities.
We are leading the engagement with the local authority and wider planning stakeholders to ensure that robust evidence is assembled to support a proposed allocation in the Local Plan.
