Project details

Competition entry for a masterplan to develop a world centre of Islamic finance to serve the growing Asian markets.

Our response to the open brief was centred on reconnecting the surrounding districts currently separated by traffic arteries, energising the new quarter and creating a distinctive, memorable and sustainable new piece of the city.

We proposed a long-term legacy for the city by introducing a new public park with an indigenous jungle layering vertically and a unique cluster of tall buildings taking inspiration from the five petals of the hibiscus flower the national emblem of Malaysia and which symbolises the five values of the nation; unity, democracy, a just society, a liberal approach and a progressive society, values which are common to our own philosophy.
