Nick Tyrer

Nick Tyrer is Associate Director and Design Lead at BDP Pattern, where he champions the integration of Design Technology and creative computation in architectural design. Recognised with the RIBA Rising Star award as a ‘digital innovator currently rising to the fore’.

Over the past decade, he has helped shape the studio’s creative vision, spearheading a computational design ethos that has contributed to the delivery of internationally acclaimed stadiums, including venues for the FIFA World Cup and the Premier League. His work reflects a commitment to designing joyful public spaces and crafting memorable user experiences across a wide range of scales and budgets. He strongly advocates for a fabrication-first design philosophy, ensuring that digital creativity is grounded in buildable, impactful outcomes.

With over 13 years of experience in stadia design, Nick has led the architectural vision for major sports venues around the world. His expertise spans the full project lifecycle, with particular focus on façades, roof structures, and seating bowl design. In addition to his delivery roles, he has successfully led numerous international design competition wins, combining creative ambition with technical rigour.
