The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium has been home to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships since its inauguration in 1993.

BDP Pattern is working with Dubai Duty Free to develop the design, business case and delivery strategy for the expansion and modernisation of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium and its surrounding campus.
The project seeks to secure the long term future of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships by upgrading facilities to meet ATP and WTA standards, enhancing spectator experience, and enabling sustainable growth within a tightly controlled capital budget.

The Structural Engineering team worked closely with the Architectural team during concept design, ensuring that structural principles were embedded early without compromising the overall aesthetic. Structural geometry was refined and optimised using BDP’s bespoke parametric design workflows, enabling early coordination of fully designed structural systems within a 3D environment.
Building on this foundation, BDP is now leading the design and delivery strategy for the expansion and modernisation of the tennis campus.
The scope includes increasing Centre Court capacity to approximately 7,500 seats, introducing a flexible second show court, reconfiguring the eastern site to accommodate fan zones and temporary overlays, and upgrading hospitality, infrastructure, and digital opportunities across the venue. BDP has developed a phased delivery strategy, including early enabling works and temporary overlays, allowing the Championships to operate throughout the 2026 and 2027 events while permanent works are delivered around them.
