Michael joined BDP in 2017 and has over 14 years of architectural experience rooted in the West Midlands. His work is deeply connected to Birmingham’s evolving urban fabric, and he has built strong relationships across the design, construction, and property sectors.
In addition to his architectural work, Michael contributes to the city’s placemaking efforts through the Colmore BID Outstanding Places Working Group, and has previously served as President of the Birmingham Architectural Association.
Michael’s portfolio of work spans projects of local and global significance—from the adaptive re-use of heritage buildings like the BBC Tea Factory HQ, to cutting-edge workplace environments for clients such as Metaswitch and Siemens Magnet Technologies. Across every commission, he brings a consistent focus on thoughtful design, operational clarity, and future-readiness.
Michael is also a leader in the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), having worked on landmark projects like the Palace of Westminster Renewal and Restoration. As part of BDP’s Project Technology Group, he helps shape how BIM drives innovation across our studios.

Birmingham studio secured planning for a bespoke 9,000 sqm office headquarters for Metaswitch, a software and network developer.
