BDP appoints Natalia Uribe as Cities Director
Global multidisciplinary design practice BDP has appointed Natalia Uribe as Cities Director. In this new role she will strengthen the firm’s global commitment to strategic urban design, masterplanning, regeneration and sustainable city-making.
Natalia brings more than two decades of international experience on city-scale development across Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. As founder of Urban World Matters, she has championed regenerative urban futures, focusing on inclusive local leadership, youth engagement and systemic approaches to city development. Her career spans architecture, masterplanning and urban strategy, and she holds an Executive MSc in Cities from the London School of Economics.
In her new role at BDP, Natalia will contribute to the expansion of the practice’s ‘The Good City’ initiative, focusing the consultancy’s global work developing city scale masterplans, guiding strategic urban frameworks, large-scale regeneration programmes and interdisciplinary planning projects across the globe. She will be responsible for embedding regenerative design, impact investment, social value and sustainability principles into BDP’s urban strategies, helping clients respond to the complex challenges of climate change, social transformation and economic transition.
Natalia will also work closely with public, private and community partners to shape collaborative solutions that deliver more equitable, inclusive and resilient urban environments. Drawing on her extensive international experience, she will unite the practice’s global expertise in planning, architecture, landscape, infrastructure and civic engagement to create holistic, human-centred approaches to city design. As cities face unprecedented challenges, from climate risk and infrastructure stress to rapid demographic change and inequality, BDP is committed to delivering holistic, future-ready urban solutions. Natalia’s appointment brings accomplished global experience, a strong ethical and strategic grounding, and proven leadership in transforming urban environments.
