South East London Community Diagnostic Centre for Guy's and St Thomas'

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust appointed us to provide town planning advice to support the selection of a site for a new Community Diagnostic Centre in South East London, funded by NHS England.

Working alongside the Trust and the wider project team, we quickly established a focused scope of work that aligned with the project's objectives and programme. We appraised a long list of potential sites across the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark, identifying planning risks to help inform the shortlisting process and avoid pursuing less suitable options.

Our planning appraisals were delivered within a short timescale, enabling the Trust to identify a preferred site and report its recommendation to NHS England. The work also identified site-specific planning constraints and opportunities at an early stage, informing the emerging scheme design and supporting project resource efficiency. Through engagement with the Local Planning Authority, we provided additional confidence for the Trust to progress with its preferred option while maintaining its programme and budget.
