BDP raises funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity

Last month, a team of 15 brave rowers from our Birmingham studio took part in the annual Dragon Boat Race, raising over £2000 for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Trust. The course stretched along Birmingham’s historic canals, and saw some familiar local company teams such as Graham Construction, Cushman and Wakefield and Gymshark compete against one another to take home the coveted trophy.

Thankfully all team members managed to remain on the boat, and we are thrilled to have raised over £2000 thus far.

BDP has a long history of working with the Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital, particularly the incredible work the team in our Sheffield studio have been involved in. After working on many of its facilities, we have been able to see first-hand the difference that the Trust makes in the lives of women and children in Birmingham, and all over the UK.

In addition to the boat race, the Birmingham team also held a charity lunch in its studio, and are in the early stages of producing a recipe book of all the delicious multi-cultural food that was cooked by the team for the lunch, which will be distributed to all donors, once complete.

Every £ counts and no amount is too small.

  • £100 could provide special breast pumps for new mums who have to stay in hospital with their premature babies
  • £500 could purchase two specialist heated gel mattresses to keep premature and full-term babies warm, in order to help keep them well
  • £1,000 could provide inpatients at our youth mental health unit with a monthly fun and educational Fitness for Mental Health session for a year
  • £5,000 could purchase specialist infant-sized equipment to help doctors quickly see down a new-born’s throat or diagnose a collapsed lung, if they’re struggling to breathe
